  • 08/23/09--08:39: SWEETLIFE TV GUESTING- Mrs O's Style (chan 1266129)
  • Another fun chikahan with Lucy and Wilma for SweetLife :) we talked about Michelle Obama’s very chic style for this segment. Mrs. O is the sartorial minimalist. She loves her tailored sheath dresses or goes gaga online adding the newest J. Crew fashion to her cart (or maybe her admin asst. does that for her, haha). Michelle Obama is the perfect style paradigm for the world’s economic state today. She is proof that you can look chic, fab and impressive without going broke. I’m just so amazed by her attitude. All of the most expensive brands and labels are right at her doorstep but she opts to relate and be sensitive to the issues of today. Mrs. O has given up and coming talents major opportunities by using their creations in pivotal moments as first lady. When have we ever seen a woman of her stature wear fashion jewelries and high street brands? Even the President O is loyal to his Chicago tailors, generating business to these medium sized companies. How I wish our government officials...

    > Yvette Lee, a veteran diver, and the friend I rely on for weather forecasts, has never been wrong yet about which way the wind blows (or how much rain will fall). Many times, she has told me to disregard Pag-asa because various other satellites, including those used by the US military, are showing different storm tracks. On Friday, she said winds would be light but waters very heavy and to prepare for serious floods.

Tonight, with some urgency, she asked me to contact Gibo, if I could. I've texted her message en toto to a defense reporter, but am posting it here anyway in the hope someone who does know Gibo or the AFP Chief or some such top gun can relay it. They may know what Yvette knows already but she is worried due to the absence of clear-cut warnings on TV and radio news. She would post here but has no Internet access at the moment. I'm tag...

2 TROPICAL DEPRESSIONS are seen lurking in Guam. A 2 day downpour is expected (this time with strong winds). The depressed areas like Cainta, Marikina, Taguig etc have no other place to go and surely water will rise. Maybe Makati can offer our basketball courts, schools etc. Anywhere safe and far from the rain and flood. We will all do our best to help communicate this to rescue people in the affected areas. PLEASE. They are starting to go back to their homes and it makes no sense.

I just have so many questions about the flooding and this extreme weather change we've been experiencing. I researched and looked for answers.... Good thing I met Alma... Salamat at nakilala ko siya. Alma Anonas-Carpio is a journalist and the tech editor of the GRAPHIC http://philippinegraphic.com.ph/v19n02d062008/index.html
She covered calamities and dedicated her time at Pag-asa & Phivocs for over 2 years. She did disaster relief runs with NDCC & RED CROSS when the Pampanga/Zambales calamity occurred, ’94-’96. She learned to read weather maps to get her stories. She's no Pulitzer winner (maybe in the future) and Alma's just a simple brainy girl who grew up to be a writer (a concerned one, mind you) who has enough knowledge to share and enlighten ignorant mortals like me. :) We were sending messages back and forth and I said thank you for the accurate accounts about the weather/calamities, because we (normal na Juan at Juana) are fed shady infos.

A post by Jenkins Mesina via Facebook.
    Very heroic.

Yesterday, at the height of the floods, my
sister's husband Rey whose family lives at Provident Village in
Marikina , got a call from his brother. They were already at the roof
of their 2-storey house -- his brother, his wife, 2 kids, his sister,
and their 85-year old dad who just got out of the hospital last week.

Not wanting to rely on our USELESS
government to rescue them, Rey went to Makati and scoured the stores
for a motorized boat that he can buy. At around 6 p.m., he finally
found a store at Reposo Street selling a 6-seater motorized boat for
over 100k. But since water at Reposo was lagpas-tao, he persuaded the
store owner to just ride the boat and bring it to Greenbelt where he
    was.

    Immediately after, Rey...

Nakakalohkah ang Saturday episode of NNNN.... Monra with Crissy and Tito Bhoy!!! Thank you, Gerry for the necklace.... I did not want to leave without it cause it was the exact design that Kris had on the night before taping. Haha :D Bhonggahh, Talahgah Josel! Haha! :D You guys have to watch this cause... For the first time... Tito Bhoy gets to say "Shut Up, Crissy!!" Location: NNNN Official Studio... Take note

Josel, I swear... I will keep your text message for posterity... Mr.Writer--> "....Have u seen the snn tonight? Kris came kc from the mar-korina wedding . she's wearing a black terno w/ BUTTERFLY SLEEVES tapos may yellow accent strips of ribbon sa bodice....sana un masuot ni Krissy sa thursday taping..." Akechi--> "Hey Josel! No eh... Just got home from taping in Batangas... You have pics?" (3:30 am Wed) Mr. Writer: "None eh... Bahala ka na... KAYA MO YAN...Pukpok yan, gurll!!" Wahaha, joke.. It was not like that at all... I just got inspired by a writer's imagination...You never said that, Josel... Thanks for leading me to the SNN Multiply account at naeksenahan ko ang outfit, Glee Boy! :))) Nakaka lokah tayo! With a little bit of imagination, an old black fabric, yellow ribbons, wires, thread, body form, glue gun and a BUNCH OF LOVELY PEOPLE with a whollahhttahh sense of humor...I came up with this... Hehehe.... :P

Another fun episode with Krissy and Tito Bhoy tonight. I was stitching that satellite cap on Krissy's head while taping for Nene's bonggang debut scene for Katorse!! I'm forever inspired by the roaring 20's hence the styling for Krissy...:)) Katorse's pixsies to follow...

The gorgeous gown is by Dax Bayani Styled by Patricia Coronado Assisted by AJ Alberto The black gown is befitting for Nenes character. Nene's persona. The color is very significant of her transformation to adulthood and the journies of her past... I believe that's the whole thought of Nene's debut... The debut scenes are filled with metaphors and symbolisms. Her bonggang step into a new world of discernment & revelation. Plus the color lifted her as she contrasted the venue's color palette. I personally don't prefer such a dark color on a youngin' but this was a different case. Nene is an "adult" debutant. The mature 18 year old. Pitiw ang pink, white keme keme kay Nene, kasi si Nene ay di ma- keme, haha

After missing a few tapings for NNNN... I sure am glad to be back styling Angelica for her NNNN gags.... Here's Krissy and Bhoy showing their vocal abilities (vocal abilities?!) through the tune of Kung Tayo'y Magkakalayo
